Rent Siliguri is owned and operated by Kode Pundit, a sole proprietorship registered in India. Kode Pundit is responsible for the collection and processing of personal information submitted through the Rent Siliguri website and related services.

1. Information we collect

We collect only the information needed to operate the service:

• Listing information — for property owners, brokers or their authorised representatives, the property details and contact preferences submitted.
• Inquiry and visit-request information — messages, enquiries and visit requests you send through the platform.
• Usage information — basic, aggregate analytics about how the site is used.

2. Phone-number and WhatsApp verification

To reduce spam and keep listings trustworthy, we may verify your phone number using a one-time code sent by SMS or WhatsApp. Verifying your number confirms you can be reached about your enquiry or listing; you can choose not to proceed if you do not wish to verify.

3. SMS and WhatsApp communication

With your consent, we may contact you by SMS, WhatsApp, email or phone to send verification codes, respond to enquiries, coordinate property visits, and share service-related updates. You can ask us to stop non-essential messages at any time.

4. Inquiry and visit-request information

When you contact an owner, request a phone number, or schedule a visit, we process the details of that request so the relevant parties can respond. This information is shared only to the limited extent needed to enable the connection you requested.

5. Purpose of processing

We use your information to:

• create and secure your account and verify your phone number;
• show relevant local listings and connect renters with owners, brokers or their representatives;
• process enquiries, visit requests and consent-based contact between parties;
• maintain listing trust and safety and respond to reports;
• respond to support, legal or grievance requests;
• improve the platform and comply with legal obligations.

6. Service providers

We share information only with service providers who process data on our behalf under contract — for example our hosting and database provider, SMS/WhatsApp messaging provider (for verification and communication), and analytics provider. They may access data only to perform their services for us. We do not sell your personal information.

7. Data retention

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes above, or as required for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention or dispute-resolution reasons. When information is no longer required, we delete it or irreversibly anonymise it.

8. Your rights and deletion requests

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you can withdraw consent to non-essential communication at any time.
